Thanks to all those who came and ran today. Hope you enjoyed the handicap / chase format.
Clearly, many people contributed to today. At a risk of missing someone out......
Big thanks to
Registration - John Fletcher, Ian Grimshaw, Anna Blackburn
Emergency first aid - Ian Grimshaw won the race to provide a plaster
Marshalls - Rebecca and Ryan Crellin, good use of a child free weekend, sunbathing on Flat Fell.
- Mario Yeomans, on the gate, stopping sheep from mixing with the wrong class of sheep ( landowner request )
- Sam Holding, sweltering on Dent, and provider of an original oil painting for the winner
Flagging - Mario Yeomans and Bill Williams. Both of whom have covered miles today. Racing would have been easier
Timing / Start / Finish - Tom Chatterley and Jim Davis. Much appreciated experience and expertise here. Knowing how the stop watch works is power.
Cake Baking - Jenny Chatterley, Dot Patton, Mel Bradley and Anita Barker. Must f been good - everything went.
Horsebox provider, cleaner of said horsebox, provider of surprisingly large collection of bacon sarnies, boiler lighter / exploder, and hence provider of hot brews, general right hand man Les Barker. Whose contributions have raised him past the status of all round "good egg"
Its been great to spend the day in such good company.
Results have been posted. Times perhaps a little slower than last year? Icy conditions slowing people down a bit?
Congratulations to John Bacon, who has clearly improved since Blake Fell - its those Tuesday night club runs. Get yourselves along to them...........
Chris Arthur's time was 9 seconds outside Carl Bell's time last year. Now if only he had been coming to Tuesday night club runs.......
See you in December for the AGM handicap race.
