Cumbria Fell Running Championships

Hi All,

We are organising fr champs in conjunction with the Coledale horeseshoe on Apr17.  Medals for ist 3 M and Women

From this we hope to select a team to go to the inter counties in Clwyd in May.  We think that we can get quite a good mens team (4 to run, 3 to count) but will struggle to get four ladies.

If anyone wants to compete in Wales and cannot run at Coledale, they can still be considered if they let me know before the 17th.  Email: noelh@cybermoor.org.uk or Tel: 01434 321385

De-registration of Cumberland AC

Cumberland AC are not now an athletic club registered as so with UKA.  They are now members of a rival association, the Association of Running Clubs (ARC).

The implications of this are given below:

Eaglesfield & Crummock Race Report 2010

Both these races were new courses and both were part of CFR’s Winter League. Saturday’s race replaced the original Eaglesfield 10, the fell road section of which was in such a poor state that I decided the course was unsuitable. Sunday’s was also a replacement course. After a beautiful sunny, frosty day on Saturday, Sunday in our part of the world started with a fair covering of snow. By race time the snow had dissipated but there was still evidence of ice and I decided avoid the potential problems of ice on the far side of Crummock where access is poor and run a two-lap race up to Rannerdale col. The fields for the two races were almost completely different. Only one runner competed in both – congratulations, Simon!

Cumbria Cross Country final race rescheduled

The final race of the 2009/10 Cumbria Cross Country series, which was postponed earlier in the year due to bad weather, has been rescheduled for Saturday 20th February at the Keswick venue. See the note below from Noel Hakeman for more details:

The match from Jan 9th has now been re-arranged for February 20th 2010.
Note also that the venue has been moved from Carlisle to KESWICK.
The course may differ a little from that used in December.
Arrangements are as usual - first race at 12noon.  Medals will be presented after the u15 race and this may delay the start of the Sen race by a few minutes.
