The CFR Junior Presentation Night 2010 will take place on Friday 24th September at the Cleator Moor Celtic Club, arrive at 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start. Tickets are available from Bob Riley (01946 817585), adults tickets cost £5 and kids go free! Night includes buffet, presentation, guest speaker and raffle.
The all new for 2010 Nannycatch loop proved to be a huge success for the 24 CFR juniors that braved the elements for their 7th Club championship race last Saturday. With the familiar territory of their training ground the local knowledge was always going to make this a superb race.
On a warm and sunny June Saturday, 30 CFR Juniors lined up for their 6th championship race of 2010. With just two races left the 2010 Championship is drawing to a close. The Godsworth race features a fast out and back course along the track leading to the slopes of Godsworth, with the older runners tackling the fell itself.
The U8s race was first off at 11:00am, Abigail Smith won the girls race in 8:20 followed by Anna Mason in 8:28 and Olivia Fearon in 9:50. Jemma Atkinson and Cerys Simpson both followed closely in 10:29 and 11:00 respectively. First U8 boy was Mathew Egglestone in a time of 8:40 followed by Barnaby Walkingshaw in 9:30, closely by Eughan Simpson in 9:35 and Kyle Anderson in a well run 10:28.
Junior training will go ahead as normal on Saturday 12th June, Brian Thompson will take this training session

Just two short weeks after their last championship race the CFR Juniors returned for their 5th, the classic Latterbarrow Loop. The race took place last Saturday on yet another sunny day which provided great contrast to last years hail storm. With three races left of the 2010 championship there is still everything to play for. All courses involved the 335m summit of Swarth Fell which provided a good challenge for the runners.
The Anniversary Wa! was the event chosen for the 4th CFR Junior championship race of 2010. The race took place last Saturday on a warm spring day in Stair near Keswick. This provided great views for spectators and challenging courses for the 35 CFR runners who turned up to mark the half way point of the 2010 season. The course involved laps of the start field for the youngest runners while the U16s and U18s scaled much of the Cat Bells ridge.
There is no junior training on Saturday 01/05/2010 as both Bob and Brian are away. The following week on 08/05/2010 is the next junior championship race, the Latterbarrow Loop from 12:00pm. Training will continue as normal on Saturday 15/05/2010.
Yet again the juniors experienced bright sunshine for their 3rd championship race which took place on the sloping sides of Flat Fell on Saturday 27th March. The rescheduled event attracted 26 CFR runners, all hoping to take away some valuable championship points.
The U8s race kicked off the morning's races following one lap of the fully flagged course at 11:00 am, Olivia Mason won the girls race in 5:05 followed by Anna Mason in 5:43. Olivia Fearon and Cerys Simpson followed in times of 6:44 and 7:20 respectively. First U8 boy was Mathew Egglestone in a time of 5:22 followed by Eughan Simpson in 6:16, Kyle Anderson in 6:28 and closely by Barnaby Walkinshaw in a well run 6:30.
The Flat Fell race that was cancelled on March 6th has been rescheduled for March 27th
